Nina Babarkina
Nina Babarkina was born in 1953 in village Mugreevsky in Ivanovo region. In 1968-1972 she studied in Kholui Art School. Her teachers were famous artists A.Semyonov, A.Kosterin, I.Turunov, V.Babarkin, V.Bugaev. After finishing school she started working at Kholui Factory of Lacquer Art Miniatures as a copyist. In 1990s Nina started creating original works. The themes are different: landscapes, architecture, improvised themes, Russian and foreign classics, fairy tales. The works of the skilled artist are represented in private collections in Russia, USA, Germany, England, Italy and Poland.
The ability to retain the style and traditions of Kholui school, and to bring the unique brightness and originality in the art of lacquer miniature distinguishes Nina’s works among many others.

Vladimir Konstantinovich Blinov
Miniature artist. Born in the village of Rusinovskaya, Ivanovo region, in 1960. Graduated from the Kholui Art School in 1985 (he studied under B. I. Kiselev) and in that same year was employed by the Kholui lacquer miniature factory. Admitted to the Kholui branch, RSFSR Artists' Union, in 1988. Exhibited his works since 1989. Major works: "The Night on the Eve of John the Baptist's Day" (1989), "Wedding" (1990).

Viktor Veselov
Viktor Veselov was born on November 19, 1956 in village Svobodnoe, in Novgorod region. In 1973 he entered Kholui Art School and finished it in 1977. His teachers were the founders of the art: A.M.Kosterin, V.A.Belov, L.M.Zhivnostka, and A.I.Semyonov. In 1978 he started working at Kholui Factory of Lacquer Art Miniatures. In 1989 he became a part of the creative team. Viktor Veselov was awarded certificates for participating in all-Soviet exhibitions. In 1994 his artwork “Saint Seraphim of Sarov” was bought by the State Historical Museum in Moscow. Veselov’s favourite themes are folklore, lyrics, history and Orthodoxy. He specializes in icon painting and landscape painting in watercolours and oil.

Mikhail Mikhailovich Veselov
Miniature artist. Born in the village of Andreevka, Primorye territory, in 1959. Finished the Kholui Art School in 1981 and joined the Kholui lacquer miniature factory. Member of the Kholui branch of the RSFSR Artists’ Union since 1988, member of the RSFSR Artists’ Union since 1989. Participant in exhibitions since 1985. Major works: «Vasilisa Mikulichna and Stavr Godinovich» (1985), «Bread» (1987) «Alexander Nevsky»(1988), «The Village» (1990), «The Sleeping Princess» (1990).

Evgeny Vlasov
Evgeny Vlasov was born on November 6, 1967 in town Uzhur in Krasnoyarsk region. In 1988 he finished Kholui Art School with distinction. In 2008 Evgeny graduated from Shuya State Pedagogical university. In November 2006 he started working in «Russian lacquer miniature» company as a miniature artist. Evgeny has been participating in numerous exhibits since 1992. His works are represented in private collections in Russia and other countries.

Evgeny Grachev
Evgeny Grachev was born on January 10, 1965 in town Yuzha in Ivanovo region. In 1986 he finished Kholui Art School and started working at Kholui Factory of Lacquer Art Miniatures. In 1996 Evgeny became a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. He is a member of the church art committee and the folk art committee of the Union of Artists of Russia; the full-fledged member of the British Association of Iconographers. Evgeny has received several national awards. He has been a permanent participant of All-Union, All-Russian and foreign exhibitions since 1988. His works are represented in museums of Russia and other countries.

Sergei Mikhailovich Dmitriev
Miniature artist. Born in Yuzha, Ivanovo region, in 1963. Graduated from the Kholui Art School in 1984. (His teacher was B. I. Kiselev.) His diploma work was «Alexander Nevsky». Joined the Kholui lacquer miniature factory in the same year. Participated in exhibitions since 1985. Major works: «Alexander Nevsky» (1985), «The Tale of the Sleeping Beauty» (1986), «Ilya of Murom» (1985), «Shrovetide» (1987), «The Snowmaiden» (1989).

Dmitry Dobrin
Dmitry Dobrin was born on February 2, 1985 in Kholui. In 2000 he entered the Kholui Art School named after N.Kharlamov. His speciality was Applied and Decorative arts, and miniature painting was his area of concentration. On June 29, 2004 Dmitry defended his graduation project.

Anatoly Zhukov was born in 1968 in village Cherepovo in Ivanovo region. In 1989 he finished Kholui Art School. Anatoly works at Kholui Factory of Lacquer Art Miniatures. Bright palette, unique elaboration of details and intensity of ornament being made distinguish his works.

Sergey Zakharov
Sergey Zakharov is a miniature painter. He was born on May 28, 1963 in village Protopopovo, in the Republic of Tatarstan. His teacher was the people’s artist B.Kiselev. In 1986 Sergey finished Kholui Art School and started working at Kholui Factory of Lacquer Art Miniatures. He has been participating in exhibitions since 1990. In 1993 he became a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. In 2004-2008 he taught design at Kholui Art School. His main works are «The Golden Cockerel», «Yemelya», «Ivan-Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf», «Saint-Petersburg», «Russian folk legends and tales».

Mikhail Vladimirovich Komarov
Komarov Mikhail Vladimirovich, miniature artist. Born in Kineshma, Ivanovo region, in 1965. Finished the Kholui An School in 1986 (his teachers were B. I. Kiselev and V. N. Sedov). He was employed by the Kholui lacquer miniature factory in 1986. Member of the Kholui branch of the RSFSR Artists’ Union since 1991. Major works: «Mikhailo Lomonosov» (1987), «Yermak’s Swans» (1989), «Mikula Selianinovich» (1991).

Alexander Kopienko
Alexander Kopienko was born on January 23, 1961 in town Novy Oskol in Belgorod region. He finished Kholui Art School in 1984 and started working at Kholui Factory of Lacquer Art Miniatures. Alexander is married and has a daughter. His works are represented in private collections in England, USA, Spain, Australia, the Netherlands and Russia. In 2000 he started to paint portraits, including children’s.

Tatiana Leonidovna Milyushina
Milyushina Tatiana Leonidovna (born in 1958 in the city of Yoshkar-Ola, Mari Autonomous Republic). Miniature painter. Finished the Moscow Arts and Crafts School in 1978. Finished the National Cinema Institute in 1987. From 1978 to 1982 and again since 1987 artist at the Kholui lacquer miniature factory. Participated in exhibitions since 1980. Major works: «Overseas Guest» (1980), «King of the Woods» (1980), «The Lay of Igor’s Host» (1986), «The Left-Handed Blacksmith» (1988), «The Tales of Kholui» (1988), «Svyatoslav’s Dream» (1991).

Lev Nikonov
Lev Nikonov was born on January 21, 1961 in village Popovo in Ivanovo region. He finished Kholui Art School in 1985. His teacher was B.Kiselev. In 1995 he became a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. During the last 20 years hunting theme has been the main theme of his works. Lev has been a participant of many Russian and foreign exhibitions. His works are represented in the Kholui museum and in private international collections.

Boris Novoselov was born in 1946 in Ivanovo. He finished Kholui Art School and graduated from Technological institute in Moscow, where he studied at the Art department of Applied and Decorative arts. He was an art director at Kholui workshops for a long time. Boris Novoselov is a Distinguished Fellow of the Union of Artists of Russia, a participant of numerous art exhibitions. His works are represented in the largest museums of Russia.

Larisa Poturaiko
Larisa Poturaiko was born in 1969 in town Yeniseysk in Krasnoyarsk region. She studied in Kholui Art School in 1987-1992. Genre subjects, folklore, fancy and grotesque designs are the themes of her works. Larisa has been participating in exhibitions since 1999. Her works are represented in private collections in Russia and other countries.

Vladimir Sedov
Vladimir Sedov was born in 1952. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1977. In 1971 Vladimir finished Kholui Art School named after N.Kharlamov. He has been engaged in creative work since 1974 under the direction of V.Belov. Since 1975 Vladimir has been a permanent participant of All-Union, All-Russian, republics’ and foreign exhibitions. His works are represented in the museums of Kholui, Palekh, Ivanovo, in the Russian museum in St.Petersburg, in the Museum of Applied and Decorative Arts in Moscow and in private collections in England, France, USA, Belgium, Japan, etc. Vladimir has had some teaching experience. Since 1996 he has been a secretary of administrative board of Kholui branch of the Union of Artists of Russia. At the present time, along with miniature painting, Vladimir is interested in practical studying of the traditional Kholui school of icon painting.

Alexander Alexeevich Smirnov
Miniature artist. Born in the village of Okatikha, Ivanovo region, in 1955. Studied at the Kholui Art School in 1972-1978 before joining the Kholui lacquer miniature factory. Member of the RSFSR Artists’ Union since 1982. His work was widely exhibited. Major works: «Bogatyr» (1983), «On the Volga River» (1987), «Ataman Platov» (1988).

Sergey Teplov
Sergey Teplov was born in November 1952 in town Kokhma in Ivanovo region. In 1977 he finished Ivanovo Art School. Sergey got to work in Kostroma, in Kostroma region, in Kokhma. In 1981 he came to Kholui for the first time, and since then his creative work has been connected with lacquer miniature. Lately theme of old-time Russian cities and architectural monuments has had a special place in his work. Watercolour, drawings and illustrations are also constituent parts of the artist’s creative work.
Sergey is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, a participant of many national and foreign exhibitions, he was awarded with diplomas and certificates. He had several one-person shows in Moscow, Ivanovo, Kholui, Kostroma, Plyos, Shuya and Suzdal. His works are represented in museums and private collections in Russia and other countries.
